Inside the walls

At yesterday's inspection, we had a guided tour of the inside of the walls. The entire house is insulated now. The slab is insulated with material covered by the concrete, the external walls are insulated with R2.5 batts, the internal walls with R2 batts, and the windows and glass doors are all double-glazed. This is going to be a very toasty house in winter, and it should remain cool in summer.

The next stage is completion of the plastering, at which stage this will look like an actual house. By then, all the doors will be in place, and the house will be ready for painting and tiling.

  1. Now that most of the external work has been done, the internal fitting will seem to go quicker. You're correct about the insulation. Last night here it was around 1 degree outside, but with good insulation (and the furnace of course) it was over 18 inside. What is your estimated move in date?

  2. We were promised early April, and that does seem very likely ... So fingers crossed!
